5 Reasons I Prefer Stun Gun For Self Defense


Believe it or not, you have to carry a self defense tool to survive. A stun gun is one of the best self defense tools these days to deal with attackers. It is basically an electroshock weapon with the ability to deliver a strong electrical shock. Don’t confuse it with a taser gun though. Both are electroshock weapons but are quite different from each other in terms of the working mechanisms. A taser looks like a real pistol and can shoot electrodes. On the other hand, a stun gun is shaped like different devices and does not shoot electrodes. Anyway, it is the self defense weapon I prefer over others. Here are the reasons why I prefer a stun gun for self defense! 

1. The Never-Ending Variety

The best thing about a stun gun is that it comes in several different shapes and designs. There is a never-ending variety of these electroshock devices. For instance, there are some cell phone stun guns that look like real cell phones. Also, there are some USBs, flashlights, and similar designs. In all these devices, one thing is common and that is the undetectable shape. No one can identify the type of device it is. A few devices come with a few additional benefits. For example, a flashlight stun gun comes with an additional feature of a flashlight which offers light when it is dark outside. 

2. The Quick Damage It Causes

One thing you want from your self defense weapon is that it has to be quick enough to save your life. So, this is what makes me prefer stun guns over other self defense devices. When you use it against the attackers, all you need to do is touch the two prongs on it with the body of the attacker. And as you touch the prongs to the body of the attacker, a strong electrical shock is delivered to his body. This happens so quickly and hence it proves to be such a quick and effective self defense weapon. 

3. The Ease of Use

A stun gun is one of the easiest self defense devices to use. This is what makes me prefer it over other self defense devices. It is actually quite simple to use. There are two prongs on the device which need to be touched to the body of the attacker to deliver a powerful electrical shock. This is the easiest thing to do. Even if you don’t know how to use it, you are already an expert at it. Nothing else you need to do apart from touching it to the body of the attacker. As you do so, the electrical shock is delivered straight away to him and he is immobilized. 

4. The Ease of Carrying

Another reason to prefer a stun gun is that it is quite easy to carry. There are a lot of shapes and designs of these devices, and in all those shapes and designs, one thing is common and that is a small size. All these devices are so small that you can carry them in your pockets. In addition, you can carry them in small purses. Apart from the ease of carrying, these devices are comfortable to carry as well. The shapes are undetectable for anyone and hence you can carry them without worrying about cops or attackers. 

5. The Non-Lethal Nature

One thing I like about stun guns is their nonlethal nature. The damage they cause to the attackers is enough to save your life. However, this is not permanent damage, rather temporary damage. For instance, if you have immobilized an attacker or given him a strong electrical shock, he is immobilized for a temporary period of time. You can run to save your life. However, there is no real damage caused to him. He can get back on his feet after some time!
